Aquaflame Candle Fountain Review

Aquaflame is a brand of innovative new candles from Bethlehem Lights. The Aquaflame product line includes a number of candle fountains of various sizes, colors, and styles.

The flameless candle fountain is basically a small portable fountain made to look like a candle. They are made of wax and have LED lights that shine through the water. People seem to value them for the relaxing sound of bubbling water they create just as much as the beautiful scintillating glow they emit.

The standard Aquaflame candle is 8.5″ tall and 4.5″ wide, comes with a 5 hour timer, and can be plugged in or powered by batteries. It requires 3 D batteries that will keep the candle running for about 120 hours as a candle fountain or 480 hours as a flameless LED candle only. They are made with real wax and use a patented pump technology that constantly pumps about 20oz of water through the candle. They come in a variety of sizes and colors including orange, pink, blue, brown, purple, green, etc. LED lights shine through the bubbling water to create a dancing and flickering light effect.

It is recommended to use distilled water to prevent mineral buildup and increase the useful life of the fountain candle.

Where to Buy Aquaflame Candles

Oddly, there seems to be no information about Aquaflame candles on the Bethlehem Lights website, and The Bethlehem Lights website links to QVC which is not currently selling any Aquaflame candles. However, Aquaflame flameless candles are available on some of the major e-commerce websites including:

BEWARE of counterfeit Aquaflame candles, especially on Amazon. There do seem to be some cheap counterfeit Aquaflame candles from China available online that tend to leak water, and it is easy to mistake them for the real thing. Our recommendation is to only buy these fountain candles from reputable stores, or to buy the ones sold directly by Amazon here, and not through any 3rd party sellers on Amazon or Walmart.com. To determine who is actually the seller of the candle, look for the name of the seller beneath the BUY button. It should say ‘ships from and sold by Amazon’ for authentic products that Amazon buys directly from the manufacturer.

QVC used to sell a lot of these fountain candles as they have quite a lot of content and videos about them, but they are not currently available on the QVC website. Regardless, here’s an Aquaflame candle review from QVC:

Competing Brands to Consider

Bethlehem Lights has a patent on their Aquaflame Flameless Candle. It is a newer product, and there aren’t many other brands selling fountain candles which does give Bethlehem Lights a lot of pricing power.

Other than what appear to be counterfeit Aquaflame candles on Amazon and Walmart.com, we were able to find this Valerie Parr Hill Fountain Candle on QVC currently selling for $36.

How Much to Aquaflame Candles Cost?

Aquaflame candle fountains are large and specialized and therefore command a higher price than most other flameless candles. A standard single Aquaflame sells for $41 on Amazon and a similar price at HomeDepot.
